According to a report by SuperData, League of Legends is No. 1 in the world in terms of PC game revenue since the start of 2017.
Long championed as perhaps the most popular game in the world, it’s no surprise to see League of Legends at the top of the list. With millions of players around the world, League maintained its market presence across multiple continents and remains at the top despite being eight years old. The report did not offer specific revenue amounts for games.
The power of the Asian market is on full display in this list, as games like League and Crossfire have a strong presence in China.
The report also includes a market growth prediction of interactive media for 2017 and projects more than $100 billion in revenue by the end of the year, $96.5 billion of which will come directly from gaming. SuperData shows that more people watch Video Game Content than Hulu, HBO, Netflix, and ESPN combined, reaching about 665 million consumers worldwide.
