League of Legends Patch 7.15 Rundown

26/07/17-  Patch 7.15 was released featuring the long anticipated rework of Urgot. Champions who have been heavily dominating, as well as some who have fallen out of favour in the meta, have been the focus for balance changes this patch.

Most notably, Zac, the champion which has the highest ban rate across all levels of solo queue as well as competitive play is finally receiving serious attention after minor changes failed to shift him out of the oppressively strong position he was in. While the numbers given indicate heavy nerfs to the champion in terms of jungle clear and by extension map pressure, it is uncertain if these changes would be enough to balance Zac, though it is expected that his ban rate will drop significantly.

Cho’gath has also been appropriately nerfed after demonstrating overly high potency, particularly in the jungle. It is still anticipated Cho’gath will still be at least slightly over-tuned.

Many champions have been buffed slightly which should have an increase in play (looking at you Akali and Nasus)

As for items, Adaptive Helm has generally been bad. With the 5% extra damage reduction from repeated sources it still to some extent serves its niche purpose except slightly better.

Duskblade of Draktharr is going to be less of a threat on ranged champions although the numbers on the item will perhaps not significantly affect the ad assassins building it now.

Knight’s Vow has been overly efficient for its purposes and the health nerfs are certainly justified.

Overall this patch seeks to address a few problems hitting solo queue especially and it should be interesting to see if the buffs are enough to bring back some forgotten champions. The reworked Urgot looks promising, although pro opinions are awaited.
